For teams shipping complex work

Fractional program and project management

Senior program leadership without a senior headcount. I run the initiative, own the plan, and keep every function honest about the dates — then hand back a governance model your own people can operate.

What you get

Most program engagements start with one of these and pull in a second. Scope is agreed in writing before anything begins.

Program governance and cadence

A meeting rhythm, a decision log, and an escalation path that survives people going on holiday. Executive reporting that says what changed rather than what happened.

Scope, milestone and risk frameworks

One place where scope lives, milestones that mean the same thing to engineering and finance, and a risk register that gets reviewed rather than archived.

Project rescue

For work that is over-committed, late, or has quietly stopped moving. I find out where it actually stands, tell you plainly, and rebuild the plan around what is still true.

PMO stand-up

Templates, intake process, prioritisation criteria and reporting for organisations running enough concurrent work to need a standard, but not enough to justify a permanent PMO.

Statements of work and delivery documentation

The paperwork that makes delivery arguable in your favour: scope boundaries, acceptance criteria, and what happens when something changes.

Cross-functional alignment

The unglamorous part — getting engineering, quality, manufacturing and the business unit to agree on one set of dates and one definition of done.

What this looks like in practice

Built the program governance framework for a semiconductor manufacturer — dashboards, peer-review cadence, project templates and IT integrations — across concurrent new-product initiatives spanning engineering, quality, manufacturing and business units. Audit readiness and portfolio visibility went from anecdotal to reportable.

How the engagement runs

Every engagement runs the same three phases. You know the scope, the deliverables and the exit before I start billing.

Discovery

A working session with the people doing the work. I map the current state, find where it breaks, and tell you plainly whether you need me — and for how long.

Build

Defined scope, fixed deliverables, a milestone plan you can hold me to — documented as I go rather than written up at the end.

Handoff

SOPs, runbooks and a trained owner on your side. The goal is that it keeps working after the engagement ends.

Tools I work in

Vendor-agnostic by default. These are the platforms I can be productive in from day one rather than day thirty.

Common questions

What does a fractional program manager actually do?

The same work a full-time program manager does — owning the plan, running governance, chasing the dependencies nobody else will — but scoped to a defined engagement rather than a permanent seat. It suits organisations with a handful of programs that matter and no one senior enough to hold them together.

How is this different from hiring a contract PM?

A contract PM usually runs one project inside your existing process. I am generally brought in because the process itself is the problem: no consistent intake, no shared definition of a milestone, reporting that nobody trusts. The deliverable includes the operating model, not just the delivered project.

Can you rescue a project that is already failing?

Yes, and that is a common starting point. The first week is spent finding out where it genuinely stands rather than where the status report says it stands. Sometimes the honest answer is that the scope has to shrink, and I will say so.

How long is a typical engagement?

Discovery is short — usually a working session or two. Build is scoped in writing with a milestone plan and an end date. Handoff means SOPs, runbooks and a trained owner on your side. There are no open-ended retainers.

What certifications do you hold?

PMP, certified through 2029, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, alongside an MS in Organizational Leadership with a project management concentration.
